Dubai; 24 May 2023: Gulf Craft’s Chairman, Mohammed Hussein Alshaali, spoke at the 2023 edition of the prestigious ASMEX (Australian Superyacht Marine Export) Conference which took place at Sanctuary Cove on Australia’s east coast on 23rd May.
Topping the bill of keynote speakers, the Chairman discussed the development and global expansion of Gulf Craft over the past four decades, from a humble builder of small fishing boats to the builder of award-winning luxury superyachts, including the world’s largest composite-built production superyacht, the Majesty 175. The Chairman also shared his own personal career journey from international diplomat to a leader in the global yachting industry.
The Australian superyacht industry has seen dramatic growth in recent years with Gulf Craft witnessing a significant increase in sales, predominantly led by charter purchases. Whilst yacht chartering has long been popular in Australia, it continues to grow in demand as owners recognize the remarkable opportunity to gain stronger, long-term returns on investment, making the purchase of a yacht as significant and valuable a proposition as investing in other assets.
As part of the Chairman’s keynote speech, he detailed Gulf Craft’s new vision for the future – announced at the 2023 Dubai International Boat Show. The vision sees Gulf Craft charting a new era of dynamic growth under the strategic theme, ‘Legacy in Motion.’ With its distinctive positioning as a global yacht manufacturer, Gulf Craft is pushing the boundaries through four core focus areas: Technology & Innovation, Path to Sustainability, Global Expansion and Next Generation.
Speaking at the event, Gulf Craft’s Chairman, Mohammed Hussein Alshaali, said: “We have been selling our boats and yachts in Australia for over a decade now and have seen significant year on year growth – quickly making Australia one of our most important markets. I am delighted to be back in Australia as one of the keynote speakers at this year’s ASMEX Superyacht Conference alongside some of the industry’s thought leaders from across the globe. I enjoyed sharing Gulf Craft’s special 40-year story, our vision for the future and our ongoing commitment to the Australian market as part of our global expansion, as well as my own personal experiences with delegates at the event.”
Gulf Craft’s Australian Dealer – Australian Superyachts – will be attending the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show this week with Gulf Craft’s flagship Majesty Yachts brand as well at the Oryx sports cruiser line. A brand-new Majesty 72 yacht will be on display alongside the Oryx 379. In Australia, Gulf Craft’s range of Majesty Yachts over 100 feet have been a particularly popular choice amongst Australian new yacht buyers thanks to their unrivalled chartering capabilities. All Majesty Yachts are built specifically to meet the stringent Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) survey class for commercial charters – from corporate events to weddings and birthdays, and private holidays, Majesty Yachts have been delivering a diverse range of chartering needs in Australia for over a decade.
