12 September 2015 - The International Marine Club (IMC) held an exclusive awards ceremony at the Ocean Blue (AIMRI) in Sharjah on September 9.
The award honored the prominent names in the maritime, oil & gas and offshore industry who have been leading their way to improve the maritime sector in the Middle East to celebrate the essence of true talent and merit. The nominations for the awards were received from various sectors of the maritime industry and were reviewed by the IMC panel of judges. The awards were purely based on individual merits and their personal contribution for furthering the developments in the maritime industry. The event was telecast live.
IMC President, Mr. Sohan Roy, was quite overwhelmed at the response the award ceremony has garnered. While, the first edition which was held in Dubai last year was much appreciated by the industry, this year award ceremony proved to be a much greater success.
Gulf Craft CEO, Erwin Bamps, recipient of the IMC Golden Helm Excellence Award
One of the recipients of the awards is Gulf Craft's Chief Executive Officer, Erwin Bamps, who was presented with the IMC Golden Helm Award for Excellence in Maritime Services - Yard Management.
Together with Erwin Bamps, IMC also presented the Excellence in Maritime Services Awards to Mr. Mohammad Hesami, Principal Surveyor of DNV GL, Capt. Adil Salmanov, General Manager-Marine Operations of E-Marine, Mr. Eugene Mayne, Group Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Tristar Group of Companies, Mr. Rashid Al Hebsi, Chief Executive Officer of TASNEEF, Mr. Steven O’Brien, Regional Crewing Manager–Asia Middle East & Africa of Svitzer, Mr. Peter Richards, Group Managing Director of Gulftainer, Mr. Kenny Ling Lu Chan, Executive Director of Shing Yang Group of Companies, Capt. Gamal Fekry, CEO of Red Sea Marine Management, Mr. Joe Brincat, Regional Vice President of ABS and Mr. Mohammad Abdulrazaq Alawadhi, General Manager–HSSEQ & Business Excellence of Drydocks World Dubai.
